Vecor Attends Guangzhou Design Week

Vecor Attends Guangzhou Design Week

In December of last year, the Vecor team attended Guangzhou Design Week. The trade fair is attended by around 30,000 visitors, including designers, developers, manufacturers and brand owners. It is the largest design event of its kind in China, making a visit essential for both domestic and foreign individuals with links to or an interest in China’s booming design industry.

Unsurprisingly, sustainability and quality were key topics at the 2019 Guangzhou Design Week – themes which our team are always happy to discuss! The trade show’s attendees were particularly interested in finding out more about the sustainability of materials presented, including their impact, how they are made, the possibility for recycling, longevity and so on.

While sustainability was no doubt a hot topic, the show’s attendees were keen to focus on quality, too, often noting that products boasting one and not the other were unlikely to succeed. It’s a sentiment echoed by the Alvanta sales and marketing team who attended the event to present our AlvantaTM tile. Jared Sun, Vecor’s Chief Marketing Officer of its Chinese operations noted that, ‘Alvanta attracted attention from many attendees who see the value in quality and sustainability.’

The AlvantaTM tile presented at the fair is created using Vecor’s unique production technology, Systema LeonardoTM. This technology requires substantially fewer natural resources than other leading manufacturing technologies. It utlises fly ash, a solid industrial waste by-product from thermal power stations, otherwise destined for landfill, as its base material. The AlvantaTM tiles come courtesy of this cutting-edge and unique technology, and the result is a tile that is comparable to the finest Italian porcelain.
