Recycling Fly Ash

There are more than 2,000 coal-fired power plants worldwide, collectively producing an estimated 1 billion tonnes of new fly ash each year. Billions of tonnes of fly ash are already stockpiled in landfill sites globally.

Vecor, in collaboration with the University of NSW in Australia has developed patented technologies to recycle waste grade fly ash currently disposed of in landfill. Vecor processes the fly ash, extracts and cleans up valuable minerals and aluminum-silicates into industrial minerals and high-grade clay replacement that can be used to create sintered building products, including:

Mining clay and other minerals for use in the manufacture of building materials and other industrial products is an energy intensive process that destroys arable land and consumes finite resources. By recycling fly ash, Vecor turns a waste material into a valuable feedstock while reducing the need to degrade land resources through mining, quarrying and excavating.
